2040, a film that we've been eagerly awaiting the Melbourne premiere of, is finally here to officially launch the 2019 Human Rights Art and Film Festival for 2019.

Award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film) embarks on a journey to explore what the future would look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them into the mainstream. Structured as a visual letter to his 4-year-old daughter, Damon blends traditional documentary footage with dramatised sequences and high-end visual effects to create a vision board for his daughter and our planet.

After the film you can hear from director Damon Gameau, Katerina Gaita (Climate for Change), Amanda Cahill (The Next Economy, Centre for Social Change) and Amanda McKenzie (The Climate Council) for a post-film Q&A moderated by Malinda Wink (Executive Director of Good Pitch Australia and Shark Island Institute).

Don't miss this one. Seriously.
