Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) and the RMIT Sustainability Team, invite you to learn about who’s making your clothes locally. It's an opportunity to also find out what’s happening globally and to recognise garment workers and manufacturers. This event sits within Fashion Revolution Week.
The event will include a panel discussion, insights into what goes on behind the scenes in the manufacturing process and it will discuss how much progress has been made in the production of ethical fashion globally since the Rana Plaza collapse that killed over 1000 people.
The panel will feature ECA National Manager, Angela Bell and Senior Research Fellow, Dr Shelley Marshall from RMIT Graduate School of Business and Law, an expert in labour rights and corporate accountability. The panel will also be facilitated by a Ms Kiri Delly, Associate Dean, Industry Engagement from RMIT School of Fashion + Textiles.
The event will also spotlight a selection of ECA-accredited manufacturers who produce locally in Australia and give insight into the skills, capabilities and machinery required for the respective textile, clothing and footwear products they specialise in.
Tickets are free, so secure your spot. Oh, and every guest gets free popcorn!
