The annual Australian Circular Fashion Conference is Australasia’s leading business event on sustainability. Following the success of the event in 2018 – ACFC 2019 is a call to action to industry on implementing fashion sustainability within 5-10 years. The conference will attract over 500 business leaders from the largest multinational companies in the Australian + New Zealand industry.
The motivation to establish the ACFC was in response to the mounting evidence on the environmental impacts from the fashion industry globally. At every stage within the supply chain there is avoidable waste and pollution. The challenges are complex and we need to take action now.
The conference features a breath-taking array of esteemed global speakers including Megan Meiklejohn (Eileen Fisher, New York), Elin Larsson (Filippa K, Stockholm), Giusy Bettoni (CLASS, Milan), Ollie Milliner (Kathmandu, New Zealand), Tim Loftus (ChristchurchNZ, New Zealand) and Christian Dreszig (Bluesign, Gallan).
There will also be over 500 business leaders from large multinational companies including United Nations Global Compact, Lenzing, Workwear Group, Wesfarmers, Cotton On, Spell & The Gypsy Collective, Arch & Hook, Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Bluesign, Cotton Australia, Salvos, Textile Exchange and Forum for the Future as well as leading expert consultants in the field of circular and sustainable practice for the retail industry in attendance.
So, needless to say, this years conference is pretty loaded with incredible talent and is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about the circular economy and how that relates to the fashion industry.
