This month we're pairing up with Activated Probiotics to host an intimate talk on the gut-brain axis.
The talk will deep dive into how microbes affect our mood and behaviours and will feature Dr Johanna Simkin, senior curator of human biology and medicine at Melbourne Museum, Ray Good, mindfulness expert and founder of The Good Place, and expert in all things fresh food, Matt Purbrick of Grown and Gathered.
Hosted in the intimate surrounds of Cam’s Kiosk at the Abbotsford Convent, will be a positive affirmation of happiness and how we can promote and maintain good mental health through the gut.
Gut health and mental health are major talking points right now. But do you know what's happening to your brain when you're stressed? Or that we can target certain conditions like mental health through the gut?
The event will look at what makes ‘good gut health’, explore its effects on the mind and discuss mental health more broadly. Ray will lead guests through a mindful eating exercise.
We’ll also explore great foods and other lifestyle decisions we can maintain to ensure we give our minds the best shot at happiness. Custom nibbles and drinks served on the night will reflect the theme.
